Cellulite

Before the peach becomes an orange

98% of all women over 20 years

Cellulite does not care much for equality: While hardly any men suffer from it, almost every woman knows the unsightly dimples on thighs and buttocks. According to recent studies, 85 to 98 percent of all women over 20 years suffer from cellulite, athletic and non-athletic, slim and curvy.

The satisfaction that cellulite also affects athletic and slim women only briefly reduces the suffering. That is why fighting cellulite has become a multi-million euro business: Companies earn around 60 million euros per year with dubious promises.

Women naturally have weaker connective tissue

In fact, cellulite has always been part of the female body, as a look at old Rubens paintings shows. The reason for this ensures our survival: Women naturally have weaker connective tissue so that it can give way during pregnancy and enable the growth of a new human being. The unfortunate side effect of weak connective tissue is unfortunately cellulite.

But there is hope!

If one knows that cellulite is caused by weak connective tissue and knows the reason for weak connective tissue, it becomes clear that cellulite is more common in women. However, patients who have worked with Sanopoly have often also reported regression. Prevention, delay and improvement of appearance are therefore possible. No special creams or pills are necessary for this...

How does cellulite develop?

Special elastic connective tissue holds fat cells in the subcutaneous tissue, where they are covered by the overlying skin layers and become invisible. When this connective tissue becomes slack, it can no longer hold the fat cells in the subcutaneous tissue, the fat cells slip, where it becomes visible as unsightly dimples. Cellulite is therefore a form of connective tissue weakness of the elastic fibers.

Reasons for weak connective tissue

Connective tissue is a three-dimensional network that supports various human tissues. Among other things, it is found in the dermis, which separates the upper skin from the lower skin and ensures that fat cells in the lower skin remain hidden. Connective tissue consists largely of collagen. Collagen fibers can be thought of as small rubber bands that hold our cells together and thereby make the skin appear smooth and firm.
Collagen production is a cell division and renewal process that slows down with increasing age. The consequence: The body produces less and less collagen. The less collagen the body produces, the weaker the connective tissue becomes and the more fat cells penetrate the outer skin and become visible cellulite.
In addition to increasing age, there are other reasons for reduced collagen production and weak connective tissue.

Lack of essential amino acids

Collagen is a structural protein. For the body to produce sufficient collagen, it needs enough protein building blocks, that is, amino acids. Adequate supply of essential amino acids is therefore a prerequisite for firm connective tissue and tight skin. If the necessary amino acids are missing, the body simply lacks the building blocks to produce collagen.

Lack of antioxidants

During metabolic processes in the human body, not only vital substances and energy are produced, but also waste products in the form of oxygen radicals. Oxygen radicals are molecules that lack an electron. They therefore strive to steal an electron from another molecule. In doing so, they damage the DNA of cells, which leads to restricted or even faulty function of these cells. These cell-damaging molecules are also called free radicals.

The human body has its own radical scavengers, substances with an additional electron that they can donate to free radicals. This way, free radicals are neutralized without a cell being damaged.
However, if there are more free radicals than radical scavengers in the body, oxidative stress occurs. This is considered the main culprit for premature aging processes by hindering and slowing down cell division.

UV radiation, alcohol and nicotine consumption, and unhealthy diet lead to an increase in free radicals and thus to oxidative stress. This in turn hinders and slows down the production of collagen and thus leads to weak connective tissue and cellulite.

An increased supply of the body with radical scavengers, so-called antioxidants, supports the body in the fight against free radicals and can slow down aging processes.Antioxidantsnot only prevent increased collagen breakdown, they also support the body's own collagen production and thus help keep connective tissue young and strong.

Lack of exercise

The more fat a person stores, the larger the volume of their fat cells becomes. They need more space and press harder against the connective tissue, which tries to keep the fat cells organized in the subcutaneous layer. The larger the fat cells become, the more pressure they exert on the connective tissue. If this pressure exists and there is an amino acid deficiency, the connective tissue gives way and the fat cells shift and become visible as cellulite.

Exercise and muscle building contribute to better blood circulation in the skin layers, better supply to them, and fat reduction. The fat cells become smaller as a result, and the pressure on the connective tissue decreases. This prevents cellulite on the one hand, but can also significantly improve the appearance of existing cellulite.

Lack of relaxation

Studies have shown that the stress hormone cortisol promotes collagen breakdown and thus the development of cellulite. It is produced in increased amounts during physical or psychological stress.

Instead of putting yourself under pressure because of unsightly dimples and thus only contributing to further collagen breakdown, you should relax, ensure adequate supply of antioxidants and essential amino acids, and exercise regularly. This is the best thing you can do to prevent cellulitis or reduce its appearance.

And please do not forget to love yourself, just as you are.
