What is Priosa® protect?

The most important component is the natural enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD). Priosa® protect contains 12,000 IU/g SOD (per capsule).

Sanopoly has chosen a plant-based substance for Priosa® protect that has a very high, above-average potential: it is derived from bitter melon juice.
Superoxide dismutase is one of the body's most important enzymes.

Oxidative stress refers to an excess of free oxygen radicals in relation to antioxidant substances (antioxidants). Free oxygen radicals lack an electron. Because of this missing electron, free radicals are highly reactive. They attempt to "steal" an electron from atoms or molecules in their environment in order to return to a chemically stable state themselves. In doing so, the attacked substances in the environment are damaged.

What is Superoxide Dismutase?

SOD is the most abundant and, according to cellular researchers, the most important antioxidant enzyme in the human organism (60 μg/ml blood). SOD is responsible for neutralizing cell-damaging free oxygen radicals, which in aging research are among the main triggers for cellular aging processes, hence the name "Methuselah enzyme". SOD catalyzes the dismutation of superoxides into less intensive hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), which the organism can easily utilize (in lysosomes) or break down.

Recommended dosage

Unless otherwise recommended, take 1 capsule twice daily with sufficient liquid.

Food supplements are not a substitute for a varied diet. Store in a dry place at room temperature and protected from light. Priosa® protect is free from animal ingredients, including the capsule shell. It is therefore excellent for vegans and vegetarians. The product contains exclusively natural active ingredients. After consultation with a doctor, pharmacist or alternative practitioner, higher doses may also be sensible.
